Supporting Young Families

The Supporting Young Families is psycho-educational and awareness program for parents and caregivers under the age of 29 with children between the ages of 0 to 6. The program is offered by a group of diverse and complementary agencies that are committed to improving the lives of parents/caregivers and their children, by providing a range of supports and services to meet identified needs. The SYF program promotes  positive parent and child interactions, stimulating children’s activities and informal parenting discussions. SYF pays attention to developmental millstones and empowers parents/caregivers on how to support and advocate for their children’s needs. We also have social hour where we provide a hot meal for the parents/caregivers and their children. During social hours staff support and encourage parents/caregivers and their children to building positive relationships with other parents/caregivers and children.

Hot meal and tokens will be provided

Supporting Young Families (SYF) will be offering Macaulay’s Early On program and Book Buddies. Both programs will be for parents and children together. SYF programs are geared to build on the parent and child relationship, develop early literacy skill and create social and community connections. SYF will be offered for an 8 week session Thursday’s from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm from Oct 19th -Dec 7th, 2023. This program will be in-person at our West Toronto Youth Hub, located at the Jane Street Hub on 1541 Jane St., south of Lawrence Ave West. Dinner will be provided.
