Supporting Young Families
The Supporting Young Families is psycho-educational and awareness program for parents and caregivers under the age of 29 with children between the ages of 0 to 6. The program is offered by a group of diverse and complementary agencies that are committed to improving the lives of parents/caregivers and their children, by providing a range of supports and services to meet identified needs. The SYF program promotes  positive parent and child interactions, stimulating children’s activities and informal parenting discussions. SYF pays attention to developmental milestones and empowers parents/caregivers on how to support and advocate for their children’s needs. We also have social hour where we provide a hot meal for the parents/caregivers and their children. During social hours staff support and encourage parents/caregivers and their children to building positive relationships with other parents/caregivers and children.
