Parenting Wisely (English & Spanish)

Parenting Wisely is offered in both English and Spanish in an interactive CD-ROM and DVD-based parenting program designed for families at-risk with children from ages 3 to 18 years, specifically to those in the area of Junior Schools & Middle Schools in the former City of York.

The Parenting Wisely program is one of a range of programs offered that are linguistically and culturally modified to meet the diverse needs of families. The goal is to strengthen families and enhance the development and well-being of children living in difficult situations. The long-term goal of Parenting Wisely is to promote healthy child development. Topics addressed include: child development, parent-child interactions and bonding, parenting techniques, conflict, problem-solving, and communication. When resources permit, children’s skill building groups run in conjunction with the parenting program.

Parenting in the Early Years is now being offered Virtually through an online group platform (Webex invitations will be provided).

The next session will be offered in Spanish from  February 16 – April 6, 2022. Program will run on Wednesdays at 10am. Currently enrolling parents/caregivers living in: M6E, M6B, M6M, M6N, M9N, M6L, M6S postal codes. Spaces are limited. For more information or to register, please contact Ena Burbano at 416-394-2424 ext. 224 or email at

Please check back regularly for updates on future sessions.

Assistance with TTC tickets is provided when needed. When resources permit, the program is offered during flexible times to accommodate the identified needs of families living in various high-need and underserved communities in the former City of York.
