On August 17th, Yorktown’s West Toronto Youth Wellness Hub (WTYWH) joined our Jane St. Hub partners in hosting the 2023 Annual Summer Community BBQ. The Jane St. Hub BBQ brings the opportunity to gather with friends and make new ones, celebrate great local food and music, and have an incredible time with our community.

As always, the Jane St. Hub BBQ had tons of activities like face painting and henna, a magician, raffles, and prizes, along with great food!  Yorktown would like to thank our community partner TELUS, who provided 150 Kits For Kids– knapsacks filled with school supplies to equip children and youth for a successful school year. Yorktown also gave away 30 Gift Bags that included additional back-to-school and dental supplies.

Yorktown’s West Toronto Youth Wellness Hub (WTYWH) is located at 1541 Jane St. in The Jane St. Hub which is partially funded by the United Way of Greater Toronto to bring together community service agencies that provide mental health, primary health, and social services. The Jane St. Hub serves residents of Weston, Mount Dennis, Trethewey, and the surrounding area and provides space for community groups that includes a kitchen and meeting rooms.

The West Toronto Youth Wellness Hub (WTYWH) is a designated Youth Wellness Hub of Ontario. It is a welcoming space and services are provided through an integrated care model. Yorktown and our Jane St. Hub partners Macaulay Child Development Centre, Midaynta Community Services, Toronto Public Health Dental Clinic, and Unison Health and Community Services refer clients to each other to ensure equitable access to services under one roof.

We are grateful for our community, partners, staff, and volunteers. We were happy to see so many of you come out and join the festivities. We shared an afternoon of fun, laughter, good food, and dancing at our community event!

We look forward to seeing you all again next year at the Annual Summer Community BBQ. Bring your dancing shoes and be ready for a good time!

See you next year!
