2012 Tribute Dinner in Honour of Ana P. Lopes and Don Tapscott

Join us for a gala evening to celebrate the accomplishments of Ana P. Lopes and Don Tapscott as they receive the 2012 Yorktown Humaniarian Award for Community service. This prestigious Yorktown Humanitarian Award for Community Service is presented annually to individuals whose outstanding leadership has had a significant impact on the lives of children, youth, women and families in Canada.

In 2012, Yorktown will recognize the accomplishments of a celebrated couple, Ana P. Lopes and Don Tapscott who have combined successful business careers with a deep passion and commitment to community service. Ana and Don have generously offered their leadership, experience, names, time and financial resources to improve the lives of some of our society's most vulnerable individuals. Their effort and resources have directly impacted causes as varied as the performing arts, children and youth services, education, human rights, womens health, and mental illness and addiction.

Proceeds of the dinner will benefit Yorktown Family Services, a community-based charity serving the former City of York and eastern Etobicoke where both risk and need are very high. Yorktown is comprised of a children's mental health centre, a shelter for abused women and also provides a range of innovative initiatives for at-risk youth designed to build leaders of tomorrow - community members who are involved, engaged and successful in one of Ontario's poorest and most culturally diverse communities.
